Cartier Tonneau 18k Guilloché Paris 1980s

238.506.000

A graceful expression of Cartier’s legacy in elegant form design, this vintage Tonneau from the early 1990s captures the maison’s deep appreciation for both traditional craftsmanship and modern refinement. This particular example features the elusive guilloché Apris dial, a rare and intricate detail that sets it apart in any collection.

The Tonneau case – French for “barrel” – is one of Cartier’s most iconic and enduring shapes. Since its introduction in 1906, the tonneau case with its elongated and curved shape has been one of Cartier’s most classic, elegant and beautiful creations for around 120 years. The so-called “officier” lugs are fitted with screwed pins. The highlight of this watch is the excellent condition of the Paris Guillochè dial.

Blued steel sword hands, a matching cabochon sapphire crown, and a manual-winding mechanical movement complete this portrait of understated luxury.
