Cartier Santos 2965 Octagon 18k Ferrite 1980s

539.448.000

This 18k yellow gold Cartier Santos Octagon cuts a striking figure with its unique ferrite Paris dial, golden hands, and of course, the characteristic Cartier blue sapphire cabochon crown.

Encased in an 18k yellow gold octagonal case, the watch stands out with its sharp lines, eight screws on the bezel, and a balanced geometric silhouette – a nod to both Art Deco precision and Cartier’s aviation-inspired heritage. Measuring a tasteful 30mm, it wears with understated confidence and unmistakable character.

The highlight, of course, is the natural ferrite dial – a dark, textural surface made from iron oxide mineral, shimmering with metallic grey and graphite tones that shift subtly in the light. Each dial is entirely unique, a one-off canvas formed by nature and chosen by Cartier for its quiet beauty.

The “Paris” on the bottom of the dial is indicating this piece was sold out of a boutique in Paris or London back then, which makes it even more desirable for watch collectors around the globe.
